Architect-designed new homes, building plots and commercial buildings in the Scottish Highlands

The Free Church of Scotland, Caol, Fort William

During 2012 we embarked on a new build for The Free Church of Scotland, located on the shores of Loch Linnhe - a perfect location set amidst amazing Highland scenery. Designed by Aberdeen based Covell Matthews, this attractive building is much more than simply a church. Designed to engage the community, the building includes a large auditorium for worship, a large cafe, now named Cafe 3:16 - with views down loch Linnhe which will amaze you. There's also a creche, a large kitchen, meetings rooms and much more.

The use of large panels of glass and stained natural larch cladding on the entrance area of the building make a strong statement and create much interest.

The Rev Chris MacRae is delighted with the finished project as are many of the villagers and the church's growing congregation. It is expected that the building will be well used by the whole Fort William community for a wide range of uses.
